Shickler is the author or coauthor of 8 books including, The Ultimate Entrepreneur and The 7 Mindsets to Live Your Ultimate Life. He has been featured on CNN, ABC & NBC News, and in The New York Times. He grew up in New York and now lives in Atlanta with his wife and two sons. Scott is a graduate of Fordham University and also the cofounder of the Magic Wand Foundation, a non-profit organization devoted to empowering youth to live their dreams.

He has co-authored several books including Making It! A Teen's Guide to Turning Your Hobbies, Skills and Dreams into Entrepreneurial Success. His accomplishments and those of his students have been featured in a variety of media including CNN, NBC News, The Wall Street Journal, and The New York Times.
April is a certified Dale Carnegie Instructor, ranked in the top 20 out of 3,000 Dale Carnegie instructors worldwide. She has trained and spoken to businesses such as United Parcel Service (UPS), Centers for Disease Control (CDC), Kroger, Macy's, Noramco (a unit of Johnson and Johnson), Goodwill Industries, Merrill Lynch, and Wal-Mart with favorable results. April's passion for bringing out the best in others extends into working with young adults to share her personal experience overcoming obstacles as a teenager. April attended Georgia College & State University and graduated with a BA in Mass Communications with a concentration in Public Relations and Rhetoric.
Roberto Rivera is an award winning artist, educator, and change agent who specializes in social emotional learning and youth empowerment. He received his undergraduate degree at the University of Wisconsin-Madison where he created his own major entitled “Social Change, Youth Culture and the Arts”. He carries a masters in Youth Development with a focus on Social Justice, Urban Education, and Hip-hop, and is currently pursuing his Doctoral Certificate at UIC. His previous company, “The Good Life", trains educators, youth workers and parents in connecting youth empowerment to community development. Rivera is the Chief Empowerment Officer at 7 Mindsets.
Jeff has dedicated the last decade to learning and understanding the critical elements that define high achievers. He has assisted Hewlett Packard, Chase Manhattan Bank, Merrill Lynch, Fidelity Investments, General Electric and Amoco Oil with their technology and strategic plans. In the last seven years as COO of Excent Corp. and now, 7 Mindsets, Jeff has worked with thousands of children worldwide, helping them understand and appreciate their uniqueness, learn to take action on their dreams, take risks, learn from setbacks, and maintain a positive mental attitude about themselves, others and their future. He is co-authoring a book on helping children develop successful life habits.
Nashid is a premier thinker on youth empowerment and personal development. Starting out as an educator in one of the worst school districts in the United States, he developed unique methods that have since empowered other educators across the country with the skills to maximize the achievement of their students. Through his own organization, My Higher Self, he has personally mentored and coached students in the United States and abroad to achieve their dreams through higher education, entrepreneurship, and community involvement. Nashid earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Morehouse College in 2006.
J. Ross Parelli
J Ross Parelli is a Universal/MI5 recording artist who has performed on huge stages across Europe, Africa and the USA. Her involvement in global community work and education led her to co-found Beats Lyrics Leaders, which utilizes a hip-hop curriculum to empower at-risk youth and aspiring young artists. J Ross is dedicated to using hip-hop education to change the world!
Andrew & Tracy McConaghie
Andrew & Tracy McConaghie have Masters Degrees in Clinical Social Work from the University of Maryland and have a successful family counseling practice in Alpharetta, Georgia. The McConaghies are excited to be a part of the ULS for the fifth year and are available to ULS students who may need some support throughout the week.
